SpeedbirdHD is an avid aviation enthusiast who currently resides in Los Angeles and works at LAX Airport. His first flight was on a British Airways B747 from Los Angeles to London Heathrow. Growing up in LA, he began his fascination with airplanes as a teenager during visits to LAX after school. SpeedbirdHD has since then been amazed by airplanes and travel. It is that precious feeling of being in the air, looking out the window at 36,000 feet, and that curiosity of flying that developed his passion towards commercial airplanes. From there, SpeedbirdHD was born in 2006. Armed with an SLR and a video camera he began to shoot high quality photographs and videos of airplanes from around the world. Today, SpeedbirdHD continues to develop his deep passion for plane spotting, photography, and videography - sharing his spotting experiences with his fellow aviation enthusiasts.
Farewell to the Boeing 747 Tribute
I wanted to make a short tribute video of my favorite airplane, the Boeing 747. Over 50 years in production and over 1,500 airframes built, Boeing will celebrate the last delivery with Atlas Air with the 1,574th build in Paine Field tomorrow. I am so happy to have flown and worked next to the Queen of the Skies.
I know I haven't posted here in a long time. Video editing does a long time and I have been busy with work and family. I do apologize for the lack of posting on UA-cam. For all you B747 lovers! National Air Cargo Boeing 747-412(BCF) [N702CA]. This airframe was the 1023rd Boeing 747 off the production line. Originally delivered to Singapore Airlines in 1994 as [9V-SMY] in passenger configuration. In 2008, it was configured to freighter and delivered to DragonAir/Cathay Pacific as [B-KAI]. In 08/2020, it joined @gonationalair as [N702CA]. Nice meeting you @pilot...

He doesn’t have that B-707 anymore . He gave it to a A&P school . .
In February 2022; just before he gave the B707 to tha A&P school, John purchased a Boeing 737-300 from Delta Air Lines and it has a nice mostly blue livery. There is at least 1 video of him flying it out of KLGB (Long Beach, California) to his home in the "airplane on the front lawn" community of Jumbolair in Florida.

this is amazing! I’m flying the -222(non-ER, I think..) in July! I haven’t been on a wide-body since 2017, and I haven’t been on the triple 7 since 2017! Ha! I can’t wait to fly a wide-body for the 2nd, and 3rd time once more!

When the 747 first went into service, the upper deck was known as the cocktail lounge for many of it's first years of service, and was only open to first class passengers. It eventually became just the first class deck, whereas the front 1/3 of the aircraft was all first class. The 777, or the Triple 7, as many refer to it as, has now pretty much replaced the 747. The 777 is a descent sized aircraft, and can accommodate between 300 and 400 passengers, is about as wide bodied as the 747, but is about 20 feet shorter, and has no upper level.

That was a very smoggy day there in Los Angeles. The 747 is such a beautifully designed a/c, much nicer looking than the A380, which looks like a pregnant guppy.
I am now convinced that polluting the planet is a very good thing, people love it!
